Room 14
Project Brief & Approach
Room 14, a mens clothing outlet based in Ashton-under-Lyne, came to Fluid Creativity wanting to turn their existing static website into a functioning e-commerce platform. To gain a better understanding of what Room 14 were about we visited their shop hoping to see where they’d positioned themselves in the market place, what kinds of clothing they were selling, and what their brand was about. It was clear that Room 14 wanted their site to represent their high street presence as well as having full e-commerce design and functionality.
With that in mind, the final design left room for photographs of the shops gilded frames, textured wallpaper, spotlights and frosted glass. Image is everything in the online apparel market so our design reflected that, we left plenty of room to implement our original photography. An area specifically tailored for promotions was placed at the bottom of the site so the client could rotate new offers as and when they were needed.
We implemented a dual navigation system so potential customers can sort by clothing brand or clothing type, all of the results are dynamically loaded. The new design was implemented into our own bespoke content management system that allows for easy administering of new products, offers and pricing.
