Poetic Republic

Poetic Republic is an online poetry competition where poets enter their work for a fixed fee; poems are then voted on by entrants and a clever system draws the winner from a series of several rounds of voting.

The concept required a long feature list to be developed from scratch, including the voting, payment system and social networking. Everything was designed to be well connected to as many social networks as possible to help the site attract the social traffic it needed. A robust content management system was required to work behind the bespoke website design.

The colourful branding and attractive combination of fonts reflects the literature-laden ideals of the very people Poetic Republic aim to attract to their network. The site is very easy on the eye with the poems taking a front row seat rather than being concealed behind over the top design.

Launching this year Poetic Republic had a goal of getting 200 applicants for their once a year poetry competition, but after our SEO department worked its magic they got more than 300 applicants from all over the world – a fantastic result. After coming to Fluid Creativity with only an idea, Poetic Republic secured a well branded bespoke social networking platform with the ability to accept payments and fantastic search engine optimisation.
