Fluid Creativity - Slime and Pinball

The brief was internally self-set and simple. Create a high impact and visually stunning motion piece to add interest and dynamism to the website, grow our motion graphics and animation offering, and increase customer enquiries by showing off to clients just what can be achieved on a tight budget. The challenge was also on the creative team to produce every single item featured on screen in-house in the studio.

With a budget of next to nothing save for basic raw materials and a blue peter mindset, the team had to think creatively to achieve a £20k result on a £20 budget. For the composite effects we wanted to achieve, a green screen was needed. This was created by our team from several sheets of scrap wood paneling and an outing to the local Focus DIY for the correct coloured paint.

This footage was shot in 1080p HD then keyed, edited and composited. Additional graphics, typographic styles and other elements were produced.

The resulting motion graphics piece was shortlisted for "Best Use of Animation" at the Big Chip awards in 2009.
