In the design business, ideas are an important currency, so naturally we get a bit annoyed when we find our designs have been stolen!
We put our all into our pitches filling them with animations, presentations, even the occasional dance routine... so you can be sure that we have thought long and hard about the requirements, audience, and the results a business wants, but until that pitch is won the designs and ideas remain our own copyright.
It's hard for some people not to be influenced by designs they have seen but to reject a pitch and then take that design and claim it as their own is just not cricket! Well their skulduggery has not paid off, because as well as being identified as dishonest their website has ended up vastly inferior to our proposal.
It's a hazard of the industry, hopefully something you won't have to encounter, but if you have, you know how we feel.
What can be done? Well we always put our copyright on pitch material and we do make it clear to those we pitch to that the designs belong to us> ultimatly through it comes down to pride, honesty and the age old difference between the original and the knock-off 'on the cheap' copy!
Check back soon for our usual tales of happy site launches and hopefull no more mentions of dance routines!
