Bring Christmas to your Web-based Business
The spirit of a festive season is upon us, so why is your website not suitably decorated? Since shopping sites and gift sites are the most visited websites during the month of December, decorating those sites according to the theme of the season can mean more visitors, more publicity and more business.
So here are five tips you can use to decorate your website during Christmas and share the joy and spirit of the festivities with your visitors whilst enhancing your business as well.
Give it a Christmas Theme
A Christmas theme might involve changing the colour. Red and green are traditionally the colours of Christmas but don’t let this restrict you. A fresh colour scheme can help brand your site for the shopping season.
Create customised promotions
Promote selected products that reflect the theme of Christmas. It’s that time of the year when people buy almost anything and everything that’s somehow related to the festival and attaching "Christmas" labels to some of your gift items could only mean more business for you.
Give away gifts
If you have regular customers who spend quite a bit on your site you could send them a special thank you gift. Or even just offer a free gift to anyone who buys in December. This will improve visitor loyalty and you never know you might get more word of mout referrals. Seasonal competition can be fierce so giving away gifts could just give you a bit more of an edge over your competitors.
Affiliate Programs
If you sell products that arent really geared to the Christmas market but you still get visitors, you could monotise on that by signing up to a few affiliate programs for sites that offer Christmas related products or services that you think your visitors might be interested in. All you have to do is add their 'Christmas themed' banner to your pages and your visitors simply click on them. The banners mean your site automatically has a Christmas theme and your visitors have access to a broader range of Christmas products from your site. Not forgetting the potential income from the affiliate arrangement!
Take advantage of Christmas Cheer
Provide your customers more opportunity to offer feedback and use the positive ones as testimonials or product reviews. Online Christmas shoppers are less stressed and in a good emotional mood so you should use their enthusiasm to help you make more sales!
