Back to Fluid Thinking
We were recently delighted to have been nominated for the Tasty Website Award at this year’s Big Chip Awards. The voting was all Twitter based using a specific hashtag, ours being #TWAfluid
Over the course of this week we’ve been promoting the nomination and asking for votes in the hope of winning.
However it’s all gone a bit pear shaped.
We asked our clients to support us by casting their votes. Unfortunately one client, acting on their own initiative, has gone about this in entirely the wrong way. Although acting in good faith, this client has inadvertently initiated a campaign that could incorrectly be perceived as an underhand attempt by us to gain votes.
Rather than cast a single vote as we requested, the client launched a Twitter competition asking their followers to tweet our hashtag for a chance to win a prize.
We would like to publicly announce that this campaign was not our doing or idea.
Upon realising what had happened we immediately contacted the Big Chip Awards to inform them and to request that any votes associated to this competition are discounted.
Furthermore we have asked the client to withdraw the competition with immediate effect.
We would like to apologise to the Big Chip Awards and our fellow competitors, namely Creative Spark, Stardotstar, The Neighbourhood and One Marketing Communications and wish everyone the best of luck.
