Our iPhone app for America Soda is proving a hit with American food fans

Over the last couple of months we’ve been developing an iPhone app on behalf of American Soda who supply genuine American sweets, food and drinks to the UK. Think Jolly Ranchers, Lucky Charms and Mountain Dew. The app is designed to bring a seamless, simple and beautiful shopping experience to the iPhone for American food fans and early stats suggest it is doing just that.

The app went live in the App Store on June 10th and marketing began at 4pm on June 13th. The result? Over 3,000 downloads in three days, with more than 50% in the first day alone! Not bad considering how late in the day we ‘went public’.

Initial feedback is also very pleasing with 16 reviews in iTunes, all rating it five stars. Here are some of the comments the app has received:

Great app! Been waiting for this so I don’t have to keep jumping online to order.

Love the app, so simple to use and track orders. If I didn’t live so close to the shop, I think I’d be using it all the time.

Amazing app, have ordered FAR too many things! Can’t wait for them to turn up!

And so on and so forth…

More importantly perhaps, American Soda are delighted with the work we’ve done in developing this app for them. They’ve already seen sales into the thousands and that, at the end of the day, is what determines success with this kind of app. Together we’re delighted with the design, the development and the online marketing (via email, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Tumblr) that has so far made the app such a success.

American Soda marketing manager Jordan Pilkington commented:

When Fluid Creativity designed our website for us they demonstrated their creative flair for design and their total understanding both of our brand and our customers so we knew that they were the ideal agency to deliver exactly what we required with this new app.

We’re keen to do more, both for American Soda and other clients so if you think your business could benefit from an app (iPhone, Android or whatever) then give us a call. In the meantime, you can download and try out the American Soda app yourself – and let us know what you think.

    hi,

I think mobile applications were once seen as a gimmick. However with powerful
mobile platforms such as Android, Apple and Blackberry, a mobile
application can be a powerful asset to a business.
