Brief

Pond Supplies company Swell UK was established in 2003. Fluid Creativity was approached to provide the full range of visual material the company needed to establish a brand and online presence, begining with a corporate identity, business cards and brochures and a major website.

The main objective was to build the best and most popular e-commerce water gardening, aquatics and pond supplies website in the UK. Although this is a bold statement, we felt that this aim was realistically achievable.

Approach

We aimed to offer Swell UK's customers a website of a quality that they would expect from other more professional industries. To provide such a website, we had to build a very visually appealing site that is quick and easy to navigate through, where customers would feel secure to purchase products online.

A major objective for Swell UK was to offer fantastic service, so a question and answer section was introduced to the site, along with a monthly newsletter, full advice section and telephone advice service. 90-95% of the products are stock items and so are offered for rapid despatch.

The site has already been expanded with the development of a Koi Carp Supplies section, incorporating all the latest technology, koi products and specialist advice. This was undertaken with relative ease due to the initial construction of the site. Further new sections have since been added for Aquarium Supplies, Marine Supplies. A significant amount of search engine optimisation work, including URL rewriting across the entire site was undertaken to further improve sales in 2005.

Swell UK gave Fluid Creativity a blank canvas in which to create a water gardening website. Fluid Creativity undertook a detailed review of the industry, gaining extensive knowledge of product ranges etc, thus enabling the construction of a visually striking site that stands out above the rest.

Over the past four months, Fluid Creativity have constructed a complete e-commerce website, which is 90% updateable via an administration suite. The site is very professional and corporate in its style, with easily accessible links allowing simple navigation through the various screens.
