PHP Developer

We are expanding the Fluid Creativity team and urgently looking for a highly skilled PHP Developer, so if that sounds like you, read on.

Required Skills

• Experienced with Object Oriented PHP5 to create reusable, scalable and maintainable code
• Experience with relational database design and practical implementation of MySQL 5 database systems – including security considerations and optimisation techniques
• Experience working with complex e-commerce platforms (in particular Magento) – both integrating skins and developing custom functionality to exceed client expectations
• Experience working with open source frameworks and CMS platforms (e.g Zend Framework, WordPress, Joomla)
• Strong knowledge of creating standards compliant, accessible and semantic (X)HTML documents.
• In depth knowledge of CSS (including CSS3) and how to use it to your advantage.
• Familiar with cross browser testing – all our websites need to work for all major browsers.
• Experience working with Mootools, jQuery and/or other JavaScript libraries including AJAX / consuming web services.
• Familiar with source control principles and comfortable with Subversion.
• Experience working to deadlines to produce high quality work (within a client’s timeframe and budget).
• Ability to work in a team environment where co-operation between developers is essential. However also able to work under your own initiative on individual projects.
• Good time management skills. You may be working on multiple projects at any one time.

Bonus Skills

• Experience working within an Agile development environment
• Any unit testing knowledge / experience (TDD) would be advantageous, but not essential
• Ideally, applicants should also be aware of and know how to cater for SEO issues which need to be considered as part of web development at Fluid Creativity.
• Any exposure to .NET technologies (C# / VB.NET) would also be useful but not required

Experience

• We are looking for a candidate with commercial experience of experience working in an design agency environment. However if you can prove your technical competence then get your CV to us and we will consider it also.
